When Julia inherits a hotel from her great-aunt, she doesn't yet know that it is a completely dilapidated building, where only an old bear works as a doorman and a ring-tailed lemur works as a receptionist.

Hotel Flamingo used to be the sunniest hotel on the Beestenboulevard. But then Marcus Malafide built his Hotel De Glitz and stole all the customers and staff from Hotel Flamingo.

Julia won't let herself be boxed in. She knows that Hotel Flamingo can once again be as vibrant as it used to be. And what's more, all animals are welcome in her hotel - including cockroaches and warthogs. So she immediately hires staff to help T. Beer and Makkie: handyman giraffe Petra repairs everything, Hillary Hippo has such a sensitive nose that she can detect even the smallest speck of dust and Madame Le Cochon terrorizes the kitchen like a true Gordon Ramsay.
